The Kumamoto SDGs Award 2022 ceremony was held at the Kumamoto Nichinichi Shimbun headquarters on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
The award, which was established this year, has two categories: “Leading the Way” for business operators and “Building the Future” for individuals and organizations. Among the group of 78 applicants, we were selected as a winner of “Special Achievement Award”, the highest award. Mr. Yamaguchi, chairman of the selection committee gave a comment in his review: “We value the foundation’s visionary initiative that has pursued sustainability since 1987 to preserve Kumamoto’s groundwater for future generations, and we look forward to the expansion of subsequent activities and the future development of scientific initiatives”.

Governor Kabashima of Kumamoto Prefecture presented a certificate of commendation to Chief Director Kai.

This is a certificate of “Special Achievement Award” made of Oguni cedar.

Chief Director Kai gave a presentation on “Case Studies of the Foundation’s Initiatives”.

At the end of the ceremony, a commemorative photo was taken of the winners and the Kumamoto SDGs Executive Committee.

With the sincere gratitude from our heart, we will take this award as an opportunity to deepen our awareness to promote and practice SDGs and continue our efforts to work toward the goal.
