On July 6, 2022, the 72nd Kumanichi Award presentation ceremony was held at Hotel Nikko Kumamoto.

The Kumanichi Award honors individuals and organizations who contributed to regional development by playing an active role over many years in social and cultural field.

Since its establishment in 1992, the Foundation has been continuously working in groundwater recharge and conservation, promoting greening of the environment, and has continued to raise awareness through its commendation program and educational activities.
Our contribution as a pioneer of promoting SDGs by communicating the value of water resources to prefectural residents, government, and businesses for the community development utilizing local resources was recognized for the award.
