Rice planting for the purpose of artificial groundwater recharge as part of the SDGs activities at “Terraced Rice paddy in Aso” with AIM TECH Co., Ltd. on May 22 and Kumamoto Toyota Motor Corporation on May 25, 2021.

They planted 2 rice terraces and 0.6 tan (6 ares) by hand.

Through rice cultivation in this terrace paddy, 12,600 tons of water can recharge the groundwater. This is equivalent to the amount of water used for daily life by 55 households with three family members.

Kumamoto Toyota Motor Corporation.　staff members.

They planted one rice terrace, 0.7 tan (7 ares) by hand.

Through rice cultivation in this terrace paddy, 14,700 tons of water can recharge the groundwater. This is equivalent to the amount of water used by 64 households with three family members.

We returned home hoping that the seedlings we planted this time would recharge the groundwater in Kumamoto area and become delicious rice in the fall.
