We did the 13th undergrowth cutting event at “Aao Taikan no Mori”!

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, a total of 112 people, including volunteers from the Higo Bank, participated in the undergrowth cutting event of Aso Taikan no Mori forest and mowing the 3 hectare’s forest area.

Following the greetings by Mr. Ohno, the Managing Director of our Foundation, Mr. Kawazu, Director of the Aso Division, explained the significance of cutting undergrowth, cutting work procedures, and points of attention.

We divided into four groups, started the brush cutter engine and began to work in their given forest area.

The grass growing around the planted seedling trees is cut.

During work breaks, take sports drinks and salty candy against heat stroke, wipe face by a cooled towel to maintain the recovery of physical strength.

We cut the undergrowth grass in repeating 30 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes in total), and broke up after the special curry rice lunch prepared by a local women’s association.
