We did the 13th undergrowth event at “Aao Taikan no Mori”!

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, a total of 112 people, including volunteers from the Higo Bank, participated in the forest of Aso Taikan and mowing under 3 hectares.

Following the greetings of Managing Director Ohno of the Foundation, Mr. Kawazu, Director of the Aso Division, explained the significance of cutting undergrowth, work procedures, and points to consider.

We divided into four groups, came to the holding place, started the brush cutter engine, and started work.

The grass that grows around the planted saplings is cut.

During work breaks, lick sports drinks and candy for heat stroke, wipe your face with a cold towel, and work to restore your physical strength.

We cut the undergrowth three times for 30 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes in total), and broke up with a special curry rice made by a local women’s association.
