On Thursday January 29, 2026, we held a donation ceremony of 6 wooden benches at the Kumamoto Prefectural Government Disaster Prevention Center. The Foundation’s Chief Director Kai presented the certificate to Kumamoto Prefecture’s Superintendent of Education, Mr. Ohi.

These are the designs for the wooden benches being donated this time. They were built by the members of the Green Environment Department and Art Department of Aso Chuo High School.

Mr. Hashimoto gave a speech on behalf of the students of Aso Chuo High School. Starting this spring, he will be advancing to Kumamoto Forestry College to further acquire knowledge and skills related to forests and forestry.

After the donation ceremony, we visited the elementary and junior high schools who are the recipients of the benches. Here is Kumamoto Municipal Musashi Junior High School.

With this donation, the cumulative total of schools receiving wooden benches has reached 50. The design has evolved year after year, and they were very pleased with these benches!
